Meeting Between Stoilkovic and Mesarovic: A Common Goal – A Stable and Economically Connected Region
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and Minister for Inter-Community Relations, Mr. Ivan Stoilkovic, held a working meeting today in Belgrade with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Adrijana Mesarovic.
At the meeting, several topics were discussed, taking into account the shared interest of both countries in further advancing and deepening economic cooperation, encouraging joint investment projects, as well as pursuing joint ventures in third markets, in anticipation of the upcoming Macedonian-Serbian Business Forum to be held in Skopje on December 3.
“Since our common goal is to intensify economic cooperation and increase foreign trade exchange, today I had a very constructive meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Adrijana Mesarovic. The figures already show that this year, despite all challenges, trade exchange will surpass last year’s results, considering that in the first nine months alone, the exchange has exceeded 1.1 billion euros, while in 2024 it amounted to 1.4 billion euros,” stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Stoilkovic following the meeting.

He added that the visit represents yet another confirmation of the ongoing dialogue and partnership between the two countries, aimed at fostering a stable, economically connected, and European-oriented Western Balkan region.

“The business community is seeking cooperation, and our goal is to respond to their requests and further connect them. With the support of the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Hristijan Mickoski, on December 3 in Skopje we will organize a major Business Forum where we will discuss further enhancing cooperation, promoting the placement of Macedonian and Serbian products in each other’s markets, which hold significant potential. The government of Hristijan Mickoski pursues a responsible policy that delivers concrete results – stable economic growth, opening of new markets, and strengthening regional stability and connectivity. Thanks to such policies, our business community will have increasing opportunities to market their products and services in other markets,” stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Stoilkovic.
The meeting reaffirmed that the cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia continues to develop in the spirit of partnership, trust, and mutual interests in both economic and regional matters.
