The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Inter-Community Relations Stoilkovic extended his greetings on the occasion of October 11th – the Day of the People’s Uprising:

The Day of the People’s Uprising – October 11th represents a historical turning point and a symbol of the struggle against fascism and the yearning for freedom and dignity of the Macedonian people.

On this day, we remember and pay the highest respect to all the brave fighters who sacrificed their lives and laid the foundations of our freedom and statehood.

The uprising of 1941 was not solely a military confrontation, but also a moral obligation – an organized, courageous, and just fight for human rights, equality, and self-determination.

It was the moment when the Macedonian people, together with all the communities living in this land, chose the path toward a future of an independent and democratic state.

Today, united around the values of freedom, solidarity, and togetherness, this holiday should remind us that only through mutual respect, inclusiveness, and building a shared future can we secure lasting peace, stability, and progress.
