A congratulatory message on the occasion of the anniversary of the Ohrid Framework Agreement
On the occasion of the anniversary of the signing of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, the Ministry for Inter-Community Relations extends congratulations to all citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.
– This day serves as a reminder of the historic moment that shaped the path of our society in recent years. The Ohrid Framework Agreement not only marked the end of the conflict, but also laid the foundation for building a society based on equality, respect for diversity, and a shared vision for the future.
The Ministry for Inter-Community Relations remains committed to the implementation and enhancement of the principles established by the agreement – protection of the rights of communities, improvement of inter-ethnic relations, strengthening of cultural cohesion, and promotion of the values of shared life.
Today’s anniversary is a reminder that a shared life is not built solely through legal solutions, but above all, through people – with understanding, respect, and a shared commitment. Peace is not maintained by itself, but is implied in everyday actions. These are values that we must constantly nurture – through daily practice, concrete policies, shared responsibility, and with the belief that together we are stronger, better, and closer to what we want to call true democracy.
The Ministry encourages all stakeholders – institutions, the civil sector, the academic community, and citizens – to continue actively contributing to the realization of the goals of the agreement, as a foundation for a stable, democratic, and European future for our country. Therefore, let this anniversary not only be a reminder of the past, but also an impetus for the future we share – equally, with dignity, and with a common vision, says the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Inter-Community Relations, Mr. Ivan Stoilkovic, in his congratulatory message.
