Ethnic Diversity of Selected Projects as Confirmation of the Transparency and Objectivity of the Allocation Process – In Accordance with the Strategic Commitments of the Government

In accordance with the Decision on the Allocation of Financial Funds from the Budget of the Republic of North Macedonia for 2025, intended to support the program activities of associations and foundations, published in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia” No. 254/24, a total amount of 19,653,125.00 denars has been allocated. These funds are provided in Budget Section 04010 – Ministry for Inter-Community Relations, Sub-program 11 – Promotion of Interethnic Relations, Item 463 – Transfers to Non-Governmental Organizations.

The funds are allocated exclusively on the basis of signed agreements for financing approved projects and are intended for the implementation of specific program activities, in accordance with the submitted project documentation. The Ministry for Inter-Community Relations is the competent institution responsible for implementing this decision, which enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.

The allocation process was carried out by a commission established by the Ministry for Inter-Community Relations, composed of representatives from the following institutions: the General Secretariat of the Government, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of European Affairs, the Agency for the Realization of the Rights of Communities, and the Council for Cooperation between the Government and Civil Society.

Following the evaluation process, out of a total of 105 submitted applications, 89 were properly submitted, 12 contained incomplete documentation, and 4 were submitted after the deadline. The final ranking list included the 33 highest-scoring projects, which were approved for funding.

The approved portfolio of projects reflects the ethnic diversity of the applicants – including organizations representing the Albanian, Roma, Bosniak, Serbian, Turkish, and Vlach communities. Furthermore, the projects are aimed at supporting the implementation of the Framework Agreement, promoting European integration, and combating corruption.

This inclusive approach serves as a clear confirmation of the transparency and objectivity of the selection process, in line with the Government’s strategic priorities to advance interethnic relations and strengthen cooperation with the civil sector in the Republic of North Macedonia.
