Stoilkovic Met with Master’s and PhD Students from Harvard

On the occasion of the visit of a group of 30 master’s and PhD students from Harvard, as part of the Balkan Track initiative, an event was held today at the Ministry for Inter-Community Relations. The event was attended by Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, as well as representatives from this prestigious educational institution. Among the guests from Harvard was the Macedonian Luka Pavicevic.

The Balkan Track initiative, within which Harvard students get acquainted with the political and economic situation in specific regions, focuses mainly on the people, projects, and ideas that shape the future of those regions.

“As the Ministry for Inter-Community Relations, our vision and mission are focused on the effective and full implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, which is  the foundation for the stability of the state, the harmonious development of society, and the respect for the ethnic identity and interests of all citizens. We are aware that it is through international cooperation and open dialogues that we can raise awareness about the importance of cultural diversity. I believe that such meetings are not only an opportunity to introduce you to our work but will also contribute to new ideas, motivation, and concrete results in the future. I sincerely hope that this visit will be just the beginning of a lasting friendship – as good relations are the foundation of everything,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and Minister Ivan Stoilkovic in his address.

The initiative to visit the Western Balkans, including Macedonia, was also welcomed by the Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, who expressed her hope that, in the future, these students, as the new generation of diplomats, economists, and politicians, would collaborate with the leaders in our country, build good relations, and together ensure that the world becomes a better place to live.

“It’s good to know what kind of friendly people we are here. I believe that Luka, as a Macedonian student at Harvard, has introduced you to our culture, traditions, customs, and the country’s policies… Know how strong our desire is to integrate into the global developed world. And don’t forget us when you find yourselves in a position where you can help,” Minister Janevska conveyed.
