Deputy Minister Mustafa takes part in an international conference on ‘Romani (Customary) Law, Tradition and Culture
Nezdet Mustafa, Deputy Minister at the Ministry for Inter-Community Relations, took part in the International Academic-Professional Conference on the topic “Romani (Customary) Law, Tradition, and Culture,” which was held in Zagreb, Croatia.
This significant event brought together prominent representatives from the academic elite, experts, and decision-makers, with the aim of deepening the understanding of Romani legal traditions and their role in contemporary society.
In his speech, Mustafa emphasized the importance of Roma inclusion in social and legal processes, highlighting that reforms in this field are crucial for improving the status of the Roma community, particularly in terms of legal protection, educational access, and economic opportunities.
As a result of the discussions and conclusions from the conference, the Zagreb Resolution was adopted, marking a significant step toward advancing the legal status of the Roma in Europe and the Western Balkans. This resolution calls for greater legal protection, recognition, and integration of Romani customary law into national legal systems.
